about
Thank you for taking a moment out of your day to step into my world of art. My name is Santiago Moreno, and I’ve been painting since 2022. My story began during one of the hardest seasons of my life. Fresh out of the pandemic, I found myself lost, struggling with depression and even suicidal thoughts. But one night, in the silence of my room, I picked up a blank canvas. I let my heart guide me, and with every stroke, I felt something inside me heal. That first painting was more than just art—it was a lifeline. A reminder that even in the darkest moments, light can be created. From that night on, I never looked back. Painting became my safe space, my freedom, and my way of expressing the unspoken. Over the years, it has transformed me, shaped me, and connected me to the universe in ways I never imagined. My birth name was Desten, and though I went through a rebirth and changed my name to Santiago Solomon as a symbol of wisdom and new beginnings, I chose to honor the name Desten through this art world. Why? Because Desten was the one who first picked up that brush—the one who believed, even for a moment, that healing was possible. Without him, there would be no Santiago. And so, Destensartworld was born. This isn’t just an art website—it’s a sanctuary. A safe space where everyone is welcome. It doesn’t matter who you are, where you come from, or what battles you’ve faced—here, you belong. I believe in love, in peace, and in the beautiful truth that creativity can unite us, heal us, and remind us of our shared humanity. Now, four years later, at 22 years old, I stand here not just as an artist, but as someone who believes in the power of transformation. My art is my story, my voice, my weapon, and my offering to the world. And by being here, you become part of this journey too. Remember this: Anything is possible. The moment you put yourself out into the world with an open heart, doors appear, opportunities unfold, and people show up in ways that surprise you. Never underestimate your own power. Never give up. Always believe in yourself, even when it feels impossible—especially when it feels impossible. Thank you for being here. Thank you for seeing me. And most importantly, thank you for allowing my art to connect with you.
Love,
Santiago
